About Us

Abiding Care was established in 2016.  Since then we have grown to be a well respected and established independent provider of supported accommodation for young people.

We currently have 20 + shared homes, providing accommodation for young people aged 16-18 years old.  Our homes are located throughout London, the Home Counties and Milton Keynes.

We are a diverse and committed team with considerable experience working with complex and vulnerable young people.  We rely on the knowledge, experience, caring qualities and commitment of our staff to provide a high quality service. Much emphasis is placed on promoting staff retention, providing an NVQ training programme and ensuring staff receive high quality supervision and support.

Our Management Team

Director of Operations/Registered Service Manager
DipSW, Diploma in Management, Diploma in Higher Education, Certificate in Human Resource Practice, NVQ Assessor.

‘I have worked in children’s social care for over 35 years, with much of my time spent working in management positions, in both the public and private sector, including Children’s Home Registered Manager, Short Breaks Commissioning Manager and Social Care Regulatory Inspector (Ofsted) with enhanced responsibilities.

In all of these roles I have always had a passion for ensuring that young people are kept at the centre of everything I do and that they are kept safe, receive good service and are given the opportunity to reach their full potential. I strongly believe that this cannot be achieved without a team of staff who share the same passion, which is why I remain committed to creating a culture where staff feel supported and are given the opportunity to develop their skills, experience, knowledge and qualifications.

At Abiding Care, I feel fortunate and proud to work for an organisation that shares this vision, with strong values and  an ethos that focuses on supporting young people while they begin their journey into adulthood.

“During 25 years experience of working in supported housing I have gained the knowledge of what makes a caring provider.

Abiding Care management and staff genuinely care about the young people we support, often going above and beyond.  I am proud to say I was one of the first employees at Abiding Care.  I take pride in seeing how professional the company has grown and the efforts made to continuously strive for improvement in what we do.

I am passionate about ensuring every young person achieves the support to reach their goals.  I firmly believe the sky's the limit whatever your start in life!”

Operations Manager for SW London, Surrey and Thames Valley

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Children’s Services in Health and Social Care

I have nearly 20 years of experience in the care and education of children and young people, . My career trajectory has spanned from volunteer teaching assistant to the Registered Manager of children’s homes, and much in between.

In my most recent position as Operations Manager at the largest Special Education Needs (SEN) school in the country, I played a pivotal role in supporting the executive leadership team by overseeing all non-curricular aspects of school operations. My contributions in ensuring the effective functioning of the school during a challenging time for the institution were rewarded later when the school was deemed Good in all levels by Ofsted.

I am deeply passionate about supporting young people, and firmly believe in the vocational aspects of this, especially from a leadership standpoint. As a leader in children’s services, I am committed to creating an environment that fosters growth, support, and resilience for our young people. It is my mission to empower staff and collaborate with stakeholders to advocate for the needs of the young people we serve. Witnessing positive transformations in their lives reinforces my dedication to effective leadership and practices that elevate their well-being and potential.

Operations Manager for North London and Milton Keynes and Head of Safeguarding
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People).

I have been working with vulnerable young people for over 15 years in a variety of settings, it is not only my profession but my passion. I have learnt a lot from the many young people that I have looked after, and I have grown from the many challenges I have faced. I value all these experiences and feel very privileged to have been part of so many journeys.

I work with integrity and have a strong sense of justice and ethics, with high expectations of the people around me and a special interest in safeguarding. I have a non-judgemental, conscientious approach.  This reflects in the response from young people, and I am proud of the successful relationships I have invested in over the years. This is the part of the job I enjoy the most-building on relationships and seeing the progress and achievements of young people and my team.

I enjoy my role immensely and each day offers a new challenge. Everyone within Abiding Care has been supportive and I feel there is a real team atmosphere. I feel really invested in, having recently completed training that will enhance my role. I am looking forward to working many more years with Abiding Care".

Home Managers

Home Managers are responsible for managing our homes, supervising Support Workers, developing Support Plans, delivering key work and working closely with the wider professional team for our young people.

Our Home Managers are required to complete mandatory and other identified training and are generally qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care

Support Workers

Our Support Workers are required to complete mandatory and additional training. They generally remain in a home for a minimum of one week but can stay for up to three months at any one time. This model works well to minimise the disruption of staff changeovers and promotes continuity and positive attachments.
