About Us

Abiding Care was established in 2016.  Since then we have grown to be a well respected and established independent provider of supported accommodation for young people.

We currently have 20 + shared and solo homes, providing accommodation for young people aged 16-18 years old.  Our homes are located throughout London, the Home Counties and Milton Keynes.

We are a diverse and committed team with considerable experience working with complex and vulnerable young people.  We rely on the knowledge, experience, caring qualities and commitment of our staff to provide a high quality service. Much emphasis is placed on promoting staff retention, providing an NVQ training programme and ensuring staff receive high quality supervision and support.

Our Management Team

Director of Operations

DipSW, MSc Management in Health and Social Care

“I have worked in Children's Social Care for over 30 years.  I started in residential children's homes when the Children Act 1989 had just come into force.  I qualified as a Social Worker practising in Local Authority Child Protection and Fostering and Adoption Teams and was a Fostering Manager for many years.

A career in Children's Social Care is not the easiest path, but I've gained so much from working alongside some of the most wonderful colleagues and young people.  I've always been very proud to call myself a Social Worker.

At Abiding Care, I'm learning about the final part of the experiences and journey for young people in social care.  I love being part of a passionate and diverse team who are committed to achieving the best outcomes for young people.”

Operations Manager for West London

NVQ 5 in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare and a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Housing Studies.

“During 25 years experience of working in supported housing I have gained the knowledge of what makes a caring provider.

Abiding Care management and staff genuinely care about the young people we support, often going above and beyond.  I am proud to say I was one of the first employees at Abiding Care.  I take pride in seeing how professional the company has grown and the efforts made to continuously strive for improvement in what we do.

I am passionate about ensuring every young person achieves the support to reach their goals.  I firmly believe the sky's the limit whatever your start in life!”

Operations Manager for SW London, Surrey and Thames Valley

"I am a qualified social worker with over 20 years’ experience working within Youth Justice and Children Social Care. I am also a qualified Practice Educator. I enjoy supporting and coaching professionals to be the best they can be in order to achieve positive outcomes for young people.

I have led and managed teams of specialist statutory services within complex and acute tiers of need. I have a well-rounded knowledge base of the contributory factors which result in children and families being referred for support as well as understanding the risks associated with exploitation and harm outside of the family home.

I enjoy working with young people, ensuring that they have the opportunities to achieve their full potential in life."

Operations Manager for North London and Milton Keynes and Head of Safeguarding

NVQ 5 in Leadership and Management, NVQ 3 in Children and Young People

“I have worked with young people for around 15 years. My career first started in the custodial sector with young people, then in Children's Homes and for the past several years in supported accommodation.

I realised very early on in my career that Safeguarding was not only part of my role but a vocation, something I wanted to learn more about and to teach others. I am very passionate about the protection of vulnerable young people and what is required to safeguard them from harm and ensuring those I work with also have the knowledge and skills to safeguard young people to the best of our ability.

I am a qualified Child Protection Trainer in many areas such as Exploitation, Prevent, Bullying, FGM. I also teach Adult Safeguarding. I am registered with the National Association for Designated Safeguarding Leads.”

Referrals Manager

Diploma in Health & Social Care, NEBOSH Certificate in Fire & Safety

“I have over 20 years experience working with vulnerable young people. Before joining Abiding Care I spent 19 years in the prison service, 6 years of which was with juveniles.

I enjoy my role immensely and each day offers a new challenge. Everyone within Abiding Care has been supportive and I feel there is a real team atmosphere. I feel really invested in, having recently completed training that will enhance my role. I am looking forward to working many more years with Abiding Care".

Home Managers

Home Managers are responsible for managing our homes, supervising Support Workers, developing Support Plans, delivering key work and working closely with the wider professional team for our young people.

Our Home Managers are required to complete mandatory and other identified training and are generally qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care

Support Workers

Our Support Workers are required to complete mandatory and additional training. They generally remain in a home for a minimum of one week but can stay for up to three months at any one time. This model works well to minimise the disruption of staff changeovers and promotes continuity and positive attachments.
